Blood Cholesterol: A Summary


   Cholesterol is a yellowish fatty substance and it is one of the essential ingredients of body. Though it is needed to the body, a high amount of cholesterol can be bad and can cause dangerous effects on the body.
                         

  A person who has high cholesterol can be potential candidate for heart attack or stroke or may be other cardiovascular disorders. Most of the cholesterol in the body is formed in the liver. In the blood the cholesterol occurs in the combination with fats known as lipoproteins.
There are two main types of this Low Density (LDL) and High Density (HDL). LDL is the one which is harmful and is associated with cholesterol deposits in blood vessels. The higher is LDL the greater risk of arterial damage and heart disease. HDL plays a salutary role by helping to remove cholesterol problem from circulation and reduce the risk of heart disease. 

v           The following can be the causes for High Blood Cholesterol:

·              Hereditary:
     Hypercholesterolemia or increase in cholesterol I mainly a hereditary disorder.

·              Excessive consumption of fatty foods:
     It can be caused due to excessive amount of rich foods and fried foods. Consumption of dairy   foods, cakes, meats, fish etc can increase the fats which can increase the cholesterol level.

·              Irregular Lifestyle activities:
     Due to unhealthy lifestyle, people are more addicted to smoking, drinking habits. Stress is also  one of the causes for increase of cholesterol.

v        The following are the symptoms of High Blood Cholesterol:


  
1. General exhaustion
   2. Excess sweating and feel of uneasiness
   3. Pain and heaviness in chest area.
   4. Breathlessness
  Thus High Cholesterol can damage your body and can cause dangerous effects on body.
